What a year this has been so far! We’re deep into summer now, and I’m finally at a place where I can slow down, exhale, and truly enjoy the fruits of my labor. This year has been one of deep personal adaptation — a time of releasing old patterns and allowing new growth to flourish. I feel like I am in full bloom, thriving right where I am planted.
Each morning, I watch as the native hibiscus and the Texas Star Hibiscus open their petals to the sun. Their fresh blooms have become a beautiful reminder of a receiving energy — attracting and drawing in all the goodness life has to offer. The gift of noticing these moments is a reminder to stay present and open, allowing life’s abundance to flow naturally.
In just a few weeks, T-roy and I will hit the road for our annual migration out West — a chance to rest, recharge, and find reprieve from the summer heat and the demands of a busy year. We may not be wealthy in the traditional sense, but we have intentionally created a slow, simple life rooted in time and balance. It hasn’t been an easy path, and it has required deep trust in the Divine, but it has taught us that when we surrender, the bounty always arrives. We are of nature. We are not separate. And in nature, abundance and growth are always present.
As I turn toward the second half of this year, I am inviting a sense of alignment to settle within my body. What does rest feel like? What about joy, trust, gratitude, receiving, love, and compassion? How can I embody these energies more fully? Nature, as always, shows the way — reminding me that life is a cycle of blooming, releasing, and allowing ourselves to be nourished.
“The drawing featured here reflects the entanglement and beauty of life’s cycles — a reminder that even in moments when things feel intricate or complex, the threads of nature guide us towards balance, growth, and belonging.”
